“I Don’t Want To Be Your Dog” by CARBELLION Heavy Rock Music Video
Southeastern Wisconsin heavy rock veterans Carbellion have officially unleashed their intense new music video for “I Don’t Want To Be Your Dog”, directed by Kenny Boufadene of Studio Meltdown. Filmed on location at the Dogs 2 Dog Tags charity training facility in Plymouth, Wisconsin, the video delivers a striking visual metaphor for personal liberation, transformation, and breaking away from destructive habits. The band channels pure live energy against the backdrop of a facility dedicated to supporting military veterans and rescue dogs, creating an immediate emotional hook that matches the fierce sonic weight of the track.
The video serves as a bold statement of independence and an evolutionary milestone for the group. Vocalist Cameron Kellenberger delivers an uninhibited performance inside a dog cage positioned directly in front of a giant American flag. This vivid visual choice reinforces the internal struggle outlined in the songwriting. The lyrics examine the exhaustion that comes with performing for others at the expense of self-respect. Kellenberger confronts the performative expectations often tied to the rock lifestyle, highlighting the exact moment an artist chooses self-preservation over cheap, reckless entertainment.
To complement the aggressive narrative, Kenny Boufadene incorporated dramatic lighting schemes that cast deep shadows across the set. Boufadene then applied heavy dirt style editing filters to give the footage a raw, unpolished atmosphere. This deliberate aesthetic mirrors the driving guitar work of Brandon Bauer and Jamie Damrow, the grounded basslines of Steve Sheppard, and the punishing drum work of Brent Nimz. Rather than relying on complex theatrical plots, Carbellion delivers a pure, unfiltered performance piece that reminds audiences everywhere of their reputation for high-octane American heavy rock.
