A lot of attention to details, and an immense familiarity with heavy metal bands, heavy metal music, and heavy metal music playlists! Let us tell you, it’s a lot of fun, but it’s also no easy task. We make our curators pay very close attention to the songs by the most influential heavy metal bands from our years of fandom, and our bands who were also around the same time as these legendary metal bands. We study reports that contain analytics on the various digital music stores such as Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. From time to time we also listen to suggestions by our bands themselves, and why shouldn’t we? They’re sometimes the best measurement of which songs are connecting with the metal scene, because they’re out there in the trenches touring, pouting their hearts out on stage night after night.
