SiXforNinE is an alternative metal band from Athens, Greece. In 2011, founding members Georga Kapa, Pete Outfox, and Herc Booze started rehearsing for fun, and quickly discovered a special chemistry among themselves. The result was some productive songwriting sessions and after several auditions for a vocalist, the band recruited Thodoris G on vocals.
Within a few months, SiXforNinE had accumulated enough material to begin recording sessions. They enlisted Fotis Benardo (Septicflesh, Nightrage) to produce the album. Unfortunately, they ended up parting ways with Thodoris while tracking the album. Fotis ended up filling in for the band on vocals so they could complete the album. His vocal performance was so impressive, that George asked him to join the band and he accepted. Shortly thereafter, the album was mixed and mastered by Forrester Savell (Animals As Leaders, Make Them Suffer, Twelve Foot Ninja). Fotis (who had also been performing with Septicflesh on drums for the past twelve years) decided to leave Septicflesh at the end of 2014, and in the following year SiXforNinE independently released their debut self-titled album Sixfornine, which received great reviews.
Throughout the remainder of 2015, SiXforNinE performed many shows, sharing the stage with bands such as Monster Magnet, Fates Warning, Leprous, and Memory Garden, just to name a few. In 2016, the band was chosen by Red Bull to record an episode for their extremely popular See. Hear. Now. video sessions performing the songs “Out of Line” and “Never Ending Road”. As the band continued to write additional songs for a second album into 2017, they were asked to be a part of producer Sylvia Massy‘s (Tool, System of A Down, Red Hot Chili Peppers) masterclass which took place at Sierra Studios in Athens.
In mid-2017, SiXforNinE entered DevasoundZ Studios in Athens, Greece to record their second full-length album, Parallel Universe with vocalist Fotis Benardo producing the album. Parallel Universe contains nine high-energy active rock anthems and the album is primed to be unleashed upon the world like a highly-contagious virus! From the very first single “Bullet Off Its Course“, one can see how this seize-the-day anthem of positivity could easily push this band towards the top of the international modern rock scene! Other highlights include “Counting Stars” which is about galactic travel via astral projection, and “Sea of Lies” which tells the story of a refugee hoping for a better future. Parallel Universe was produced by Fotis Benardo , mixed by Paul Pavao (Disturbed, Stone Temple Pilots, Breaking Benjamin), and mastered by Tom Baker (Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails, Motley Crue), and it sounds amazing!
Parallel Universe was released worldwide on August 2, 2019 via Eclipse Records.
