Being Rob Zombie's guitarist for many years was good for Riggs because it allowed him to take the signature guitar playing and songwriting he had spent years developing with Zombie back to his original project before the "Zombie days", to Scum of the Earth. When he began to collaborate with Powerman 5000 guitarist Mike Tempesta, the combination was slick and volatile. As Tempesta contributed his writing abilities to help create songs with amazing hooks and character the band was able to maintain a seriously heavy sound rooted in Riggs's original vision. As the two continued resurrecting the band, members Clay and Seven were brought back to the mix. In 2004 the band signed to Eclipse and entered Belt of Orion Recording Studios in Los Angeles, CA to record the album. While recording, long-time friends of the band John Dolmayan (S.O.A.D) and Johnny Tempesta (Rob Zombie & Helmet) sat in as guest musicians on several songs to add the finishing touches and give the band a definite sense of where they have been and where they are going.
