Natural Science is probably my favorite track onthe CD, nobody ever covers that song, and RFC did an amazing job.

picked it up at bestbuy yesterday, awesome tribute CD, it actually sounds like Rush is recording it. I actually thought Natural Sciensce was my least favorite one though, love New World Man and Xanadu.

Run For Cover is comprised of four Rush-heads. Each member previously performed in a tribute band to the amazing Canadian intellectual power trio. Rob Jackson (ex Limelight vocalist), Mike Cappadozy (former Achives guitarist), Carl Schultz (one time bassist/keyboardist with both Archives and Hemispheres) and Michael Mumblo (drummer from Hemispheres), combined forces to form the ultimate by-the-numbers Rush tribute act.
Throughout the eleven song A Tribute to Rush release, which pulls from the late '70's and '80's Rush treasure chest, Run For Cover match the original, complex works from the Lee/Lifeson/Peart triumvirant with note-for-note precision. The self produced effort, with assistance from John Chiara, stays the course as Run For Cover celebrate the greatness of Rush with mirror image recordings that includes "Tom Sawyer", "Freewill", "Limelight", "Red Barchetta", the intense eleven-minute "Xanadu" and "The Trees". The proficient studio effort is an impressive re-working of the techical Rush catalog, however, with no deviation from the original high-brow works, what is the point of spinning this solid tribute disc more than one time? |
